Merry Christmas from all of us with Record Rack®!
Tis the season for giving, and we thought no better opportunity than now, to share a recap with you of our 4th Annual Bucks for the Brave heroes hunt took place over Veterans Day weekend. It was a life-changing event for five Veterans, one Retired Texas State Trooper and one retired NY Firefighter, that were flown into San Antonio for the hunting experience of a lifetime.
These heroes were treated with a full cowboy makeover at Cavender’s, then jumped into limos and were escorted to Thumbtack Ranch by a full lights convoy led by Police, Legion Riders, Blue Line Riders with a firetruck and Game Wardens on their “six.” For the next four days, they were able to hunt for a trophy Whitetail or Axis, two does and as many hogs as they could find. The heroes were able to take a portion of their harvest, with the other half donated Trinity Oaks 501c3 charity that processes the meat and feeds local families in need.
We had special guests to help honor them including Pro Steer Wrestler Dakota Eldridge, Pro Bronc Rider Heith DeMoss, NASCAR driver Spencer Boyd and multiple musicians to entertain by the campfire. The weekend wasn’t all about hunting though. This trip is about camaraderie, healing and recognizing the service and sacrifices these heroes have made for our country and the communities they live in. The seven heroes arrived on Friday as strangers, but for everyone involved, we all left as family.
You’ll feel it for yourself, as you read this recap article from one of our partners that attended from Cowboy Lifestyle Network.
